Thank you!

Assembly District 2,

Well, we got a silver medal. Unfortunately, there is not a nomination for second place. At the end I came in 2nd out of 5. It is not the outcome I wanted, but I am very grateful for the experience and the new relationships I have made.

Throughout the campaign I personally knocked on 2,500 doors and made 3,300 phone calls. During that process I had the privilege to get to know our community in a way very few people get to. I made new friends and really got to learn what is important to our district. There is no better way to learn about your community than getting out and talking to people.

I am very proud of the positive campaign we ran and the guidance I received from my team. Zac, Zack, David, Tammy, Torey and Mark – thank you for your tireless efforts. You are all amazing.

To the elected officials who endorsed me, thank you for coming out so aggressively on my behalf. Your supported surpassed everything I expected.

Campaigning becomes your full time job, which takes away from friends, family and work. I am very grateful for the support I received from everyone and the slack they picked up while I was on the campaign trail.

Running for office was one of the most amazing experiences I have had. I really appreciated every minute of it. There are amazing people in politics who are really trying to help and some not-so-nice people. I encourage anyone who is interested to get involved. Run for office, help a cause or help a candidate. Volunteer – you can help as much or as little as you want.

Thank you again everyone who spoke to me, volunteered, donated, shared on social media or put up a yard sign. It was an honor to have your support. It never got old seeing my yard sign in people’s yards.

I can’t thank everyone enough.

Warm regards,
Erik
